Albizia Julibrissin 'Summer Chocolate'. Silk Tree.

The Albizia Julibrissin 'Summer Chocolate', more commonly known as the Silk or Mimosa Tree is a very showy looking shrub or small tree. Flowering from an early age it produces amazing exotic looking flowers in clusters at the ends of the branches from July to September. 'Pincushion' like in shape they are pink and white with long silky stamens and a beautiful melon scent perfect for attracting butterflies and bees to your garden. The leaves are equally attractive being a striking bronze-purple colour, pinnately divided resembling delicate feathers or ferns in shape. Emerging leaves are a bronze green. Naturally developing a pleasing broad dome, umbrella shape, very little pruning is necessary and little maintenance is needed to bring a feeling of the mediterranean to your garden with these tropical looking trees.
