Archontophoenix Cunninghamiana.

The Archontophoenix Cunninghamiana Palm is a stately and tropical looking palm. Commonly called the Piccabeen or Bangalow Palm it has large, arching feather-like leaves 8-10ft long, which are green on both surfaces as opposed to the Alexander Palm which are slightly more silvery on the undersides. The new emerging leaves can also have a coppery hue. The trunk is greyish in colour and ringed with leaf scars. When mature enough and in correct conditions it bears lavender coloured flowers.
Better grown in a warm conservatory or atrium as it is only tolerant of a light frost. A beautiful and elegant palm
