Brahea Calcarea. Brahea Nitida
The Brahea Calcarea previously known as Brahea Nitida is a medium sized fan palm. Strikingly beautiful this rare palm has a smooth slender trunk with a crown of  20-30 finely segmented leaves, bright green in young plants turning to greyish-green with a slightly glaucous underside as they mature. Truely unique, it is the only species of Brahea without thorny petioles.

Slow growing this palm is also long lived and is very drought tolerant. It prefers a sunny spot and dislikes humidity.
