Brahea Decumbens. Mexican Dwarf Blue Palm
The Brahea Decumbens is one of the most sought after palms because of it's extraordinardy beauty and rarity. Mature specimens have fan leaves which are an amazing steel blue colour due to a covering of a waxy bloom on both the top and lower surfaces. Seedlings are green, turning blue as they mature.The Mexican Dwarf Blue Palm is a clustering palm and grows to between 3-6ft tall with a trunk which grows along the ground (decumbent). It is very slow growing but extremely cold hardy down to around -12 or lower and also copes well with arid and windy conditions.
This is an amazingly beautiful palm which will add plenty of drama to your garden. A true collectors palm.

Common Name: Mexican Dwarf Blue Palm, Sierra Madre Palm.
Native to: From the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico.
Hardiness: Down to -12 withstanding severe cold.
Growth: Clustering palm with decumbent trunk. Slow growing with stiff, steel-blue coloured fan shaped leaves covered by a waxy bloom on both surfaces. Wind and drought resistant.
Sunlight: Full / partial sun.
Exposure: Exposed/sheltered.
Soil: Well drained.
