Citrus Pursha. Romana Lime Tree.
Citrus trees instantly bring a piece of the Mediterranean to your garden. Grown in a sunny, sheltered position they will produce crops of delicious sweet fruits even in the UK, with only basic maintenance.
The Citrus Pursha, or Romana Lime Tree is a cross between a lime and mandarin. It produces small lime sized fruit, green in colour, turning yellow when ripe. The skin has oil glands dotted over the surface and is intensely fragrant and easy to peel, whilst the flesh is juicy and sweet but fresh in flavour flavour, rich in vitamins and minerals. The fruit can be eaten raw, candied or used in cooking for flavour.
Perfect as an ornamental tree too, compact in growth with mid green dense elongated foliage, beautifully scented white blossom which have a light purple tingle to their margins and tasty fruit year after year. Can flower and fruit throughout all of the year if conditions are right. A very pretty tree, great for growing in containers on a patio, in a conservatory as well as your garden. This tree is self-fertile.
