Citrus Tree Yuzu.
The Citrus Yuzu is becoming a very popular and trendy Citrus to use packed with vitamins. A hybrid between the Mandarin Orange and the Itchang Papeda fruit. The flavour is somewhat like that of grapefruit and mandarin and it is mostly used in the same way as a lemon but it does have a more unique and fragrant flavour. Looking like a small grapefruit having an uneven bumpy skin which evetually ripens to a yellow-orange colour. Not usually eaten as a fruit the zest and juice is great to flavour food, drinks and is perfect used in marinades.
Perfect as an ornamental tree too, glossy dark green foliage similar to that of the Kaffir Lime and being amazingly aromatic. A very pretty tree, great for growing in containers on a patio as well as your garden. This tree is self-fertile. Citrus trees instantly bring a piece of the Mediterranean to your garden. Grown in a sunny, sheltered position they will produce crops of delicious sweet fruits even in the UK, with only basic maintenance.
