The Cleistocactus Samaiapatanus Cristata is an extremely unique and beautiful cactus. Wavy and undulating pale green fans, turning pinkish in sunlight have white areoles and softish tiny spines. Large brilliant red tubular flowers are produced in Summer. This strange cactus makes a great and intriguing houseplant.Very easy to keep, needing minimal maintenance. Probably the only ones at this size for sale in the UK.

Hardiness: -5 if kept dry but preferably kept frost free.
Growth Characteristics: Slow growing, evergreen cactus. Pale green, turning pinkisk in sunlight, undulating crests with white areoles and softish spines. Brilliant red tubular flowers in summer.
Sun: Bright position.
Exposure: Sheltered.
Soil: Sharply draining soil. Gritty.
Moisture: Water sparingly during spring/summer(allow to dry before re-watering), less in Autumn and dry in winter. Sensitive to over watering.
Feeding: Feed half strength liquid fertilizer in Spring
