Coccothrinax Proctorii. Proctor's Silver Palm.

The Coccothrinax Proctorii is a very pretty medium sized palm tree. A crown of deeply divided fan shaped leaves, dark green on the upper surface, silvery white below sit ontop of a slender solitary trunk.
Slow growing, it copes well with poor soils if well drained and is tolerant of salt and coastal exposure once established.
Unique to the Cayman Islands, the Silver Thatch Palm is endangered in the wild due to accelerating habitat loss and becoming rare.
This beautiful tropical palm thrives in a sunny well drained location and grown indoors make a neat bonsai tree.
