Cotyledon Orbiculata. Pig's Ear.
The Cotyledon Orbiculata is a very beautiful but variable evergreen succulent. Densely branched stems with fleshy but flattened attractive obovate leaves, similar in shape to a Pig's ear, hence the common name. Grey-green in colour the leaves are covered with a powdery waxy coating over the whole leaf which helps reflect sunlight to conserve water. In high light the leaves take on an striking pink-red colour.

Upright florescenses occur up to 70cm tall bearing dense clusters of small tubular upside down bell shaped flowers which can be either blood orange-red colour or a paler salmon-orange.

Easy to grow it makes a very unique and pretty houseplant in the UK given plenty of light. They can stand outside through summer but best kept frost free.
