Diospyros Kaki. Japanese Persimmon Trees

The Diospyros Kaki is a beautiful fruit tree commonly known as the Persimmon which brings a tropical look to any garden. An ornamental tree it has spreading branches with broad glossy deep green leaves which turn bright orange to red giving a spectacular show in Autumn. Being deciduous the leaves are lost but the fruit can stay on the branches long into winter. Pretty bell shaped flowers are followed by large edible fruit, red-orange in colour which have a delicate sweet taste. Easy to grow this striking fruit tree is happy to be kept in a container or in the ground. Self fertile.
