Dypsis Pilulifera. Jurrasic Park Palm

The Dypsis Pilulifera is an unusual collectors palm from the Comoro Islands. This  beautiful palm tree has a crown of 5-7 upright slightly arching dark green glossy pinnate leaves which are slightly plumose. Petioles are unarmed. A solitary trunked palm the crownshaft is green becomimg greyish or dark brown in colour.

Vunerable in the wild, it is a palm which is quite hard to come by and quite sought after.  Special note: Until recently this species was known as Dypsis sp. 'Jurassic Park', and has now been changed to Dypsis pilulifera, and the palm that held the name Dypsis pilulifera, has been returned to it's un-described name of Dypsis sp. ‘Orange Crush.’
