These extra large Agaves are absolutely stunning and make a dramatic statement. The variety is Agave Salmiana var Ferox, is very easy to grow needing very little maintenance. It is a stunning agave, glossy green coloured leaves with beautiful pronounced patterns on their upper surface. Characterized by large basal rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves typically having spiny margins and a sharp terminal point, it is better to plant them away from walkways.
Although they flower rarely, when they do, yellow flowers on a long inflourescence which are very attractive to bees and birds are produced.
Great for exotic gardens, it's bold silhouette makes a wonderful architectural centrepiece.
