Fargesia Nitida 'Winter Joy'. Bamboo.

Fargesia Nitida 'Winter Joy' is a very attractive hybrid cross between Fargesia Murielae and Fargesia Nitida. Hardy down to -20 degrees and a non-evasive clump forming variety. It has many slender upright canes gently cascading at the tips with all year round dense foliage. The canes themselves are dark green with sheaths an attractive contrasting reddish colour, bringing plenty of interest in winter hence the name 'Winter Joy'. Average to fast growing reaching an eventual height of around 3-4m they are great for providing both a visual and sound barrier in the shape of a hedge. Alternatively they look spectacular as a single specimen plant in a smaller garden.
