Furcraea Macdougalii. Macdougal's Giant Century Plant.
The Furcraea Macdougalii is a large and striking but relatively slow growing evergreen succulent, perfect for providing architectural interest to your garden design.
Rigid upright sword-shaped dark green leaves, form attractive rosettes. Maybe one to keep away from pathways though, as each leaf margin has regularly spaced hooked teeth. As it matures it forms a thick stout unbranched trunk and becomes really inpressive. It blooms only occasionally but when it does a flower spike up to 20ft tall appears bearing fragrant greenish white flowers. Very easy to grow and low maintenance.
