Olive Trees. Variety Picual.
These mature Olive Trees are the very rustic cultivar 'Picual', one of the most widely cultivated Olive in Spain. It is also one of the toughest, adapting well to the damp soil and cold in the UK. Strong trunks are topped with a large open crown of beautiful foliage, leaves having an attractive silvery coloured underside. Picual grows relatively vigorously and takes pruning well. Hand picked by ourselves these statement Olive Trees instantly bring a piece of the Mediterranean to your garden.
Olive Trees have been grown in the Mediterranean for centuries for oil and fruit production and are becoming increasingly popular in the UK as they can tolerate temperatures down to -15 degrees whilst also being very wind resistant. If you would like fruit, a sunny spot is better.
Perfect as an ornamental, evergreen tree, it can be left natural or pruned to keep it within it's space limits.
Caring for an Olive Tree is easy, remember they are a fruit tree so they will need regular watering and feeding. Feed your Tree with a balanced fertilizer such as 'Olive Focus' once a fortnight from May to October to ensure it grows well in the UK.
