The Opuntia Bergeriana is a dense shrubby tree-like variety of cactus. The pads are oblong and paddle shaped, olive green but fading in colour as they mature. Needle-like spines are clustered into groups of 2-8 being between 2-4cm long and bright white when young ageing to grey-brown. Long lasting orange-red flowers appear in April/May followed by egg shaped edible fruitVery easy to keep, great for growing in pots, needing minimal maintenance. Very attractive and durable.

Growth Characteristics: Very easy to grow. Tree-like shrubby cactus. Olive-green, flat paddle shaped pads. Spines clustered in groups of 2-8. Long lasting orange-red flowers followed by edible fruit. Require little maintenance.

Soil: Well drained soil. Gritty.
