Passiflora Edulis.  Passion Flower.  Pyramid.

The Passiflora Edulis is a fast growing evergreen perennial climber with some of the most beautiful exotic looking flowers produced in succession throughout the summer. Large flowers have a base of rich purple with white petals and a ring of numerous rich purple-violet coloured frilly filaments which fade to white.

Pretty glossy mid-green leaves are deeply lobed with 3 fingers and climbing tendrils. Fruits are egg sized, yellow or purple in colour and are edible.

This showy climber is great for covering walls and trellises in courtyards and city gardens as well as making great container plants for patios, conservatories and greenhouses. In winter it may die back to the ground but will regrow from the roots in spring.
