The Phormium Tenax Variegata also known as variegated New Zealand Flax is one of the easiest exotics to grow. Really striking it has long, spear shaped green leaves, striped with cream towards the margins, it's flowers on long spikes being a dull red in colour throughout the summer. Tolerant of wind it is great for coastal positions.
Cold hardy down to -12 degrees, it provides great architectural interest to your garden, great if you,re looking for a stylish contemporary feel. Perfect for growing in pots too.
