Plum Tree. Variety 'Black Amber'.

The 'Black Amber' is a very popular variety perfect for eating fresh from the tree, cooking with or making jams and jellies. It is a very vigorous variety of Plum Tree with an upright compact shape, easy to grow and a reliable producer of fruit. Masses of scented white blossom is produced in Springtime which is followed by the fruit ripening from late Summer to early Autumn. The plums are medium sized and roundish in shape with a bluish-purple coloured skin. The yellow-golden flesh is firm, very rich and sweet and packed with delicious juice. The stone leaves the flesh easily, great if you are cooking with them and using a good amount at one time. The Variety 'Black Amber' is partially self fertile and a reliable heavy cropper although it will produce more if a pollination partner is planted close by. Grows very well in a sunny sheltered location, great for coastal locations and hardy throughout the UK.
