Plum Tree. Variety 'Mirabelle'.
The 'Mirabelle' is a French variety perfect for eating fresh, cooking with or making jam. It is a very vigorous variety of Plum Tree with an bushy crown, it is easy to grow and a reliable producer of fruit. Masses of scented white blossom is produced in Springtime which has a good resistance to frost and is followed by the fruit ripening from late August into September. The plums are rounded small to medium in size with a light golden coloured skin sometimes having red speckles when fully ripe. The golden yellow flesh is smooth in texture, very sweet and packed with delicious juice. The stone also leaves the flesh easily, great if you are cooking with them and using a good amount at one time. The Variety 'Mirabelle' is part self fertile, so although no other tree is needed to set the fruit a larger crop may be achieved if there is one . Grows very well in a sunny sheltered location, great for coastal locations and hardy throughout the UK.
