Rhipsalis Cacti. Hanging Cacti.
There are over 35 different varieties of Rhipsalis. They are native to Central and Southern America. These hanging Cacti have very attractive long green succulent pendent green sprawling stems which can reach several meters, cascading down over the pot giving a waterfall effect. Most stems  are cylindrical but some are flattened. In habitat they are usually epiphytic which means they grow in trees but there are some which grow in cracks in the rocks getting their nutrients from the air or dead leaves and other debris. Spines are usually absent but if they are they are hair-like and very fine.  In winter most species have very small mostly white glossy bell shapped flowers which have a sweet fragrance followed by white berries.

This unique and very trendy cactus is perfect for providing a dramatic accent to your house or office.
